The sun rises 

bringing light to this day

to kiss the trees 

as their shadows

cast upon the dew’d grasses

the birds 

kissed by its warmth

as they sing

of rebirth 

in a joyful sound

the breeze blows 

ever so lightly

whispering good morning

as the new day begins

the sunkiss of life awakens
